Marvel’s latest superhero movie Spider-Man: No Way Home is breaking pandemic-era box office records around the world. According to Deadline, the photo had already grossed $ 302.9 million worldwide on Saturday and is expected to surpass the half-billion dollar mark on Sunday.
The Jon Watts-directed film had the second-biggest opening day ever in the United States on Friday, grossing $ 121.5 million worldwide. He also earned an additional $ 181.4 million globally on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, bringing his total to $ 300 million.
No Way Home is just the sixth film to hit this milestone on Saturday, and it’s the first time it’s happened during the pandemic. Given a staged release in many global markets (it will open in Spider-Man’s Mad Japan in January), industry watchers predict the film will easily hit the billion dollar mark worldwide over the course of of its dissemination.

For the stars of the film, the opening of the ropes was a great source of joy. Tom Holland, the film’s lead actor, posted a video on social media of the film’s premiere, thanking fans for the film’s good start. “Wow guys I can’t believe those numbers. You made this possible. Your love and support mean the world to me. Thank you thank you thank you and if you haven’t seen Spider-Man yet haven’t come home yet… happy Christmas and you know what to do, ”he wrote.
