Saira Banu paid tribute to her late husband, actor Dilip Kumar, on his birthday. The actor passed away earlier this year on his 99th birthday.

The 99th birthday of actor Saira Banu’s late husband, actor Dilip Kumar, will be a day of peaceful reflection for the “lively and vibrant” man she was married to for 55 years. Dilip died on July 7 from a serious illness. He would have been 99 on Saturday.

Saira said that although it was a “terrible void” not to have him physically around, she still thinks he is walking by her side. “I will do the prayers, remember him and I want the day to be very quiet.” I want to visit the Juhu Garden (Juhu Qabrastan) where he is (buried), ”Saira told PTI.

“The house would be full of flowers, there were times when the bouquets were on all floors, steps and all over the house and we wouldn’t have enough room for that. It was so wonderful. He was loved so much by people. He still is, ”she said.

Dilip was defined by Saira as a very active person and a foodie who preferred plain clothes and liked sports. Dilip enjoyed his plain white cotton outfit with white boots for everyday wear, according to the 77-year-old veteran, despite several exquisite suits and shirts.

“He liked the right clothes a lot. And great food and he was also a wonderful cook. Whenever he wanted to, he would try to (do) new things like soup and other items, ”she said. Saira said the late star shares a great bond with the kids and has her own tips for keeping them entertained.

“He’s a man who is so alive and vibrant. It’s a terrible void for all of us, ”she added. Saira shared that for several months she sent meals to the poor on behalf of Dilip. It is often said that time heals all wounds, but Saira said that life became unimaginable without her saheb, as she used to address him tenderly.

“I’m not too good. I try to make myself fitter. You can imagine that this is a very difficult job. It is a terrible shock. I really wonder how long it will take to recover or if I am recovering, ”she said.

“(I think) he’s walking side by side with me with his hands in mine. He’s very present, that’s how I think and that’s how I want to live and be alive. C It’s unimaginable for me to walk without him, you know, we shared a life together. It’s 55-56 years of bonding, ”she added.

“Every marriage has its ups and downs, but we had a wonderful, happy time together. He has supported me so much in life. I have been fortunate enough to share my life with him. I will always cherish him. will always and always be alive for me, ”said Saira.
