Kriti Sanon reacted by being called an “Aamir Khan woman” for putting on weight in order to play Mimi justice. For her role in the film, Kriti gained 15 pounds.
Mimi is a Hindi version of the nationally awarded Marathi film by Samroudhhi Porey, Mala Aai Vhhaychy !, released earlier this year (2011).
Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Pahwa, Sai Tamhankar and Supriya Pathak are the stars of the film directed by Laxman Utekar. The story follows a young woman who decides to become a surrogate mother in order to earn quick money, but life has other plans for her.
During an interaction with India Today, Kriti Sanon was asked if she could be called “Aamir Khan Woman”. She said, “Nahi nahi itna zyada dijiye pressure mat. Aamir Khan sir ko touch karna bohot door ki baat hain (No, no, don’t put so much pressure on me. It’s nowhere near compared to Aamir Khan). ”
She added: “Oh yeah, principal itna bol sakti hoon ki jab aap itna mehnat karte hain, aur itna passion se ek character ko jeete hain… aur jab woh bohot saraya jaata hain… jab log aapke kaam ko dekte hai..tab wo satisfaction aata hain (But I can say that when people like you for a character that you have tried with passion, there is a feeling of satisfaction).
Earlier in August, Kriti shared a clip of herself training. She captioned the post: “While putting on 15kg for Mimi was a challenge, losing those pounds wasn’t easy for Chubby Sanon either!” and… I had saved Param Sundari for later so I have the motivation to get back in shape!
